The themes of my work tend to focus on natural world spectacles and human social phenomena.
I am hugely influenced by the natural world. Growing up in rural towns and villages across Scotland and beyond, I spent a lot of my time working with animals and exploring the outdoors. From sea caves on pebble beaches to thick forests and woodland tracks, I still keep finding new places to venture to.
The social constructs that surround and influence our daily life and how they are readily accepted by people also interest me and so I have found myself gravitating towards subjects like community and society.
The form my work takes is typically that of video installation and photography. I have been utilising stop motion as an integral part of this, bringing the traditional paper animation technique together with a digital means of recording videos. I have also been exploring photography in both film and digital formats, and have been using old film camera lenses to create a dreamy, etherial feel to my images.
